About Us

OUR
MISSION.

Our mission is to recycle plastic waste into reusable products to not only clean our community and the surrounding environment but also to educate those around us on the impacts of plastic pollution and the difference we can make.
At POWIIS we as a community are dedicated to our school's goals to become an eco-friendly school. Not only do students donate their plastic waste to be recycled but our hardworking team is focused on making a difference, no matter how small, to prevent plastic pollution and protect our environment.

We are located in Prince Of  Wales Island International School in Penang, Malaysia. Our school is working to become waste-free and have been developing this in multiple ways including recycling and compost initiatives, many of which are supported directly by the students. Malaysia ranks 6th globally in terms of plastic use at 67.09kg annually per capita. In terms of plastic waste, Malaysia ranks the second-highest in overall generated waste. Despite this, the recycling rate of post-consumption plastic packaging among Malaysians is still relatively low. These figures drive us furthur to recycle our waste and educate our community

LOCATION.

PRECIOUS PLASTIC.

We are a registered Precious Plastics site. Precious Plastic is a global initiative whose goal is to turn waste plastic into usable products while bringing people and communities together. They have sites all over the world dedicated to reducing the amount of recyclable plastic waste that ends up in our environment.

PARTNERS.

We collaborated with the Penang green council which dedicates itself to making Penang greener and safer through technology, education and innovation. They partnered with us to create the colour 'PGC Go Green'.

We collaborated with Habitat Penang hill which educates people on the diverse wildlife we have in Penang and why we must strive to protect it. They partnered with us to create the colours 'Rainforest Romp' and 'Forest Green' both of which were inspired by the lush forest greens that surround their paths

Our collaboration with The Langur Project brought us the colour Langur ranger, a black and white mix inspired by the variegated coats of the monkeys they work to protect.

CEMACS collaborated with us to bring the colour sea breeze. A bold cobalt blue inspired by the shimmering oceans they research and protect.
